Joplin's Pearl featuring Amber Ferrari began in 2005 when the late Ellen Michelmore, musical director of Theatre Three in Port Jefferson, asked Amber to cover Janis Joplin in her production Woodstockmania. Amber's performance was so well received that Joplin's Pearl was born, celebrating Janis Joplin's music with authentic attire and a 9-piece band with a 4-piece horn section. The show has evolved into Woodstock Fever, expanding to cover Cream, Jefferson Airplane, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Doors, The Who, and more. The band has performed at The Iridium NYC, The Paramount in Huntington, and The Patchogue Theater.
